520 |a The main purpose of this research is comparing the micro and nano-silicone softeners on the properties of non-modified and surface-modified cotton fabrics by corona discharge. For this purpose, non-modified and modified cotton fabrics have been coated by silicone and nano-silicone softeners at concentrations of 1%, 2%, 3% and 4%. The bending resistance, water absorption and wrinkle recovery angle tests were measured. Nano particles and corona discharge surface modified fabrics were observed by means of SEM microscope. Bending resistance, and water absorption were reduced upon increasing the concentration of softener, and wrinkle recovery angles of samples were increased upon upraising the softener concentration. The samples covered by nano-silicone and corona treated showed better properties and more appropriate result in comparison with silicone softener without corona.
