520 |a Electricity self-generation is a societal evolution. The public network provides the necessary services for the development of self-generation with guaranteed power permanently compensating for variations in local generation or its lack, a standard-quality electric wave, a pooling of consumption needs and local generation, data supply especially for collective self-generation, different contractual modes between stakeholders. From an electrotechnical point of view, there is no difference between a local production for self-consumption and the same for direct injection on the network. Its impact on the network can be negative if the injection peaks create new constraints. It can be positive if the sizing of the production is adapted to the needs and if the self-consumer adapts its behavior to reduce the peaks of extract energy from the grid. With current pricing in France, individual self-consumers benefit from a reduction in their bills greater than earnings created for the network. The good sharing of network costs between users becomes an equity issue in the energy transition. A solution chosen by some countries is to increase the price of the subscription, depending on the power, in return for a lower price for the energy.
